¡Holiday!

Well, I know this blog hasn't have the activity it should and well, it will not have it any time soon. In two days I'm leaving for 10 days and during this time I won't be playing nor writing. So, I'll see you when I'm back and enjoy your time!

And so... archery mastery!

Finally, after so and so many arrows I have my archery at 75 and have just bought archery mastery, also called Sharpshooter and Spirited Archer. Now, I'm supposed to do more damage with my bows and if I can get some r40 bows I should be a competitive archer, right? Well, I'm eager to see if this is really true.

Darkfall Postcard 5: Life under us

Hey! Look at the great cavern I found in a Dungeon. Not a bad place, uh? Unfortunately I was there to find PvP but I didn't. Anyway, you can also notice that my equipment is not so shitty nowadays. Improving step by step.

I finally got it!

Hell yeah! I'm a full archer now and it's only a matter of time to see Sharpshooter go up. I'm eager to do some small scale PvP. And I'm also thinking about frapsing some of my stuff to make the Darkfall Cinema. Let's go for it!

Your skill of Ping Surging is surging!

What a stupid title! But I needed to say it. Come on, Av, fix the goddam ping issue. Actually I don't even know if it's Av fault but it looks like it. Darkfall is too good to be plagued by this server issues. A good ping is more valuable to me than a mount. And that's saying a lot. Anyway, anyone knows how to figure out who or what to blame for this ping surging thing?

First skill at 100!!!

Well, what was I saying about the grind? Trying to skill my wisdom and weaponsmithing I have been doing a lot of gathering, A LOT. And so my first skill at 100 is...

Which was your first skill at 100?

The Grind

Well, the Grind is proabably the most discussed issue in Darkfall forums. It has to do with "Stat/Skill gain", "noobs vs vets gap", crafting and some other things. Well, I've positioned myself in "too much grind" side of the debate. Last week I've been trying to skill weaponsmith so I could be able to make my own weapons, hoping to get to rank40. But gathering is too slow and too boring. Come on, Av how can you expect a player to be in front of his computer without going afk if there's nothing to do or watch during gathering? Is plain impossible.
The other side of the grind is not so bad. Hunting mobs is funny. The problem is the very small gain you get when trying to skill something. Melee is really slow or so it seems to me. I'm in my second month and been playing quite a lot and I don't have any mastery yet and my melee is still below 70. I'm close and I'm going to enjoy it but taking the masteries as an average line of competitivity, two months of hardcore playing is a little bit too much.
We'll have to wait and see if Darkfall 2010 reduces the grind. I sure hope so.

I nearly have what it takes

Well, well, after 2 months of play, I finally feel that I almost have what it takes to be a competitive warrior in Darkfall. None of my fight skills is over 75 and I have no mastery yet, but I'm really close, maybe another week or so. Very soon I'll be able to craft my own good rank weapons too and I already have good armour in my bank. Some time ago I DECIDED to go PvP for the first time, I went to a hamlet from Crimson Aliance I believe and there was some nervous stalking, some tower zapping and finally I managed to kill a guy who was wearing better armour than I did. So, a good trip!
Yesterday, I participated in a very easy siege with my alliance. The other side didn't even appear but it was nice to see that we can act like coordinately and so on. It was also fun to see so many people gathered.
For all of these and some more, I feel I'm ready to PvP. The bad point is that I'm not very patient and so, I like to solo PvP aswell, but I'm not exactly there yet. But soon... very soon.
